Colder weather

The temperature in Whale Cove has been hovering around -53 -56 degrees. It's the kind of cold that freezes your eyelashes and takes your breath away. However this weather has not stopped me from enjoying the great outdoors. My roommate and I took a walk on the sea ice, it was incredible. The land here makes you feel very humble. It would be very easy to injure yourself from mere exposure.

The teachers had a pretty easy week this week. We had a in service Tuesday and Wednesday discussing theme planning. Thursday and Friday morning was a blizzard day. The kids hate blizzard days, they love being at school especially when the weather is too cold to do anything else. I had a chance to skate with the kids which was really great. The students love their hockey and most of them are amazing hockey players.

My dad arrived today with Qimmik. They were supposed to get to Whale Cove on Friday however; the blizzard put a stop to that. So they were stuck in Winnipeg Saturday. It could have been worse, they could have been stuck in Rankin spending 200 dollars on a hotel room. Qimmik is excited to be back in his hometown; however, he is not a fan of the cold.
